This zipped folder came about when I found that I had nowhere safe or permanent to keep the growing collection of quilting templates and their accompanying instructions. I constantly forgot the `safe’ place I stored them in. So, I designed a sturdy folder with 2 zipped pockets that was small enough so the templates didn’t get lost and big enough to hold my growing collections along with the instructions that came with the more unusual templates. I wanted a folder that I could open out flat and that was rigid to protect my previous and often expensive templates.
This bag features a machine piecing design on the front of the bag with the well-known saying – “Measure twice, cut once”. I am sure many of us have made that mistake before. Now we can carry that saying around with us and remind ourselves of the simple rule and hopefully not have too many cutting mistakes. This bag requires basic knowledge of patchwork construction, and can be a great introduction to machine piecing incorporating simple hand stitching (Red work).
This extensive pattern instructions (10 pages) is supported with detailed colour diagrams to make following and reading the pattern instructions straight forward. It is also suitable for all levels of sewing skills and it would be beneficial if you have had previous experience in sewing zips but not essential as full instructions are given.
