Holly is known for its vibrant red colour, which stands out against the starkness of winter and during the holiday season, holly adorns many houses all over the world. It is more than a lovely seasonal decoration; the prickly leaves represented the crown of thorns that Jesus worn when he was crucified. The berries represented the drops of blood that were shed because of the thorns.
Gather up a couple of coordinating Xmas fabrics to compliment a lovely Xmas stitchery centre and create a lovely table runner to adore your dining table at the festive season.
A great introduction to Red work and constructing a table runner. You can also enhance your table runner by painting the design with Derwentwater Inktense pencils before embroidering.
