What is more relaxing then spending a day at the beach on a beach chair outside a beach hut watching the boats come by over the gentle sea. The children are building sandcastles and collecting sea shells. Surround yourself with memories of a lovely day at the beach with this applique and stitchery quilt.
The fabrics for this quilt use a selection of approximately 12-15 FQ’s, but as this is a scrappy quilt it is perfect to dive into your fabric stash and bring in as much or as little fabric variations as you prefer. Bring out all the nautical toning’s for this lovely seaside quilt.

Month Three – Collecting Seashells
We all recall happy childhood memories collecting seashells at the beach, pretty ones, unusual ones, and bringing them home to string together to make a wind chime to hang outside and remind us of the lovely times spent at the beach. I still do this as an adult with my children and we bring home all sorts of shells and store them in decorative lanterns in our bathroom.
I think we all grew up trying to say the tongue twister ‘she sells seashells’ and finding it funny when our friends couldn’t. This saying is based on a song written by Terry Sullivan about a real seashell seller named Mary Anning (1799-1849)
