Autumn is a lovely time of the year with the lovely colours of the trees, the blackberries ripening and ready for picking on the country hedgerows, apples are ready for harvest and bring the smell of lovely home baked tarts. The fields are full of corn, wheat and lovingly protected by hand made scarecrows. Wandering in the countryside you are bound to come across hares, squirrels, foxes and maybe the odd field mice all busy gathering in their stores for the winter.

Month Two – Apple Harvest
Autumn brings the harvest of apples. I am sure many of us have fond memories of going down to the orchard and gathering up the fallen apples and the ones still on the trees. Feasting on crisp juicy apples before they were peeled and chopped up into tasty homemade tarts. I remember bottling apples, so we could enjoy them throughout the year in apple and blackberry crumbles and even freezing apple tarts.
Size of finished item = 16 ½” x 18 ½”
